Zane Nathaniel Laijas (b.2003) strives to be versatile, utilizing many sects of the music world. He strives to create beautiful soundscapes through his Oboe performing and musical compositions/scores. He mixes elements of classical folk, screen scoring, and contemporary music in order to elicit emotional connection and introspection. He aims to inspire many musicians just as many musicians have inspired him.

As both a performer and composer, Zane values versatility and collaboration. His original compositions include Between Then and Becoming, Lamentations, and Human’s Sober, works that reflect his interest in expressive narrative writing and rich instrumental interplay. He has also composed for film, contributing the score for the short film Beyond, where he explored the relationship between visual storytelling and musical atmosphere.

Alongside his creative work, Zane is deeply committed to music education and mentorship. He serves as a private instructor at Running Brushy Middle School and has presented masterclasses for developing musicians, sharing his passion for artistry, pedagogy, and musical growth. Whether teaching, performing, or composing, he strives to cultivate meaningful musical experiences that inspire both performers and audiences alike.

Zane graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin, earning a Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance with a minor in Business.
